Why Acupuncture?

  • Chinese medicine is one of the oldest forms of medicine on the planet, having had at least 1500 years of development. Acupuncture is widely practiced in Southeast Asia and China, as well as extensively in Europe and even in South America. There is even an acupuncture training program at the Harvard Medical School.

  • Research has shown that acupuncture is extremely safe, when practiced by properly trained practitioners.

  • Acupuncture works on the body's many different systems at the same time, helping in many ways.  Through the insertion of fine solid sterile needles, an acupuncturist can help your body regain the balance it has lost, using time-tested treatment methods.

Fees

Acupuncture of Iowa accepts payment by all common methods. Insurance can sometimes cover our fees, but each patient must check ahead of time with their own carrier to determine coverage. Blue Cross of Iowa and Medicare/Medicaid and Iowa Care do not cover acupuncture at present.

We are glad to help people who have been injured on the job, or in auto or other accidents where an insurance company will pay for care. Please notify the secretary when you call for your appointment if you will be using injury insurance to pay for your treatment.

Payment plans and package rates are also available at the discretion of the practitioner. Seniors and students may also receive a discount when evidence of volunteer work is presented. Ask about this when you call.

Our charges are based on the average cost of similar services in our region, reimbursement amounts by insurance companies, and what we believe is reasonable for the quality of service we provide and experience of our practitioners.

Initial visit evaluation: $50 - 110 depending on complexity of case. Acupuncture is additional charge.
Initial unit of acupuncture: $75  at first and all other visits

Additional fees are based on complexity of case and services rendered at time of treatment.

We are generous with our time and talents, and we believe that we offer excellent treatment at a fair price.
